Make a Wonderful Day in Ghana, Africa |
|
 As many of you know, the vision for the Make a Wonderful Day song is that it will be eventually translated into every language known to mankind and that musicians world wide will embrace it and play it in all kinds of music genre's. In West Africa, we have an opportunity for this to happen through Ghana Celebrity Diana Hopeson.
Diana is the President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Vice President of Generation for Christ International and the Producer and Hostess of Peace Kiddy Time. Her previous six recordings have sold well over 200,000 copies and she has received the Best Personality, Best Female Artist and the Best Gospel Music award in Ghana.
With financial support to make this happen, Diana will record the song in English and two Ghanaian dialects using traditional African instruments and rhythms. She will promote it on radio stations across the nation and will create a music video to be shown on five TV stations. Making a
Difference in the Schools
|
 We
have made some major progress in taking the project to school children!
My musicians, Dave Hamilton and Greg Rumpel, and I performed our new
Keys
to a Wonderful Life for Children program for three schools over the past
few weeks; Grant MacEwan, Radisson School and St. Luke School in Calgary.
The song was discussed verse by verse and the students explored how to use
the key messages, such as gratitude, to make each day wonderful. The
teachers loved the program and the session created new opportunities for
discussion back in the classroom with students writing about it and creating
pictures. Upcoming performances are scheduled at Our Lady of Peace School,
Andrew Davidson Middle School, and Spitzee Elementary School in High River.
Music teachers are also getting into the project. At Our Lady of the
Assumption and Canyons Meadows Schools, the music teachers have started
rehearing the song with their students, choirs and concert bands and will
share it at upcoming performances. School administrators are seeing the
value of adding a Make A Wonderful Day™ presentation to the curriculum.

Current Projects Needing your Support
|
 We are thrilled at all the new developments in the schools to date and would like to ask for your support for two very worthwhile projects.
It is our intent to share the Make a Wonderful Day song and positive message with 600,000 school children by June 2009 by providing one FREE CD to each of the 2100 Alberta schools.
I want to acknowledge Diane Willis who donated 195 CDs which were sent to Calgary pulbic schools earlier this month! These CDs will allow the schools to play the song at assemblies, teach students the song, and many will go on to hold programs in which the children experience how they can make wonderful days for the rest of their lives.. Thank you so much, Diane!
Four other people, Don & Aleta Moulton, Harold Line, and Jean Romain also purchased multiple copies of the CDs which generated additional donations to some of the remaining schools in Calgary. Thanks to all these people, 250 schools in Calgary have a new opportunity to add value to their curriculum and their student's lives. We have already achieved 10% of our goal, lets keep the momentum going! Please consider spnsoring the schools in your city, town or community.
Our second goal is to give 150 CDs to high school students attending the Blue Friday Peace Heroes Conference on November 21, 2008. This is a powerful program designed to reduce gang violence, hate crimes and cyber bullying. It is a collaborative project with over 20 agencies involved.
In an effort to accomplish these goals, we have put together a special purchase incentive. Humanity Unites Brilliance
|
 At a recent
Humanity Unites Brilliance event in Calgary, I was invited to sing Make A Wonderful Day™ to over 200 people. One of the participants was Frank Maguire who is a founding member of Humanity Unites Brilliance, former VP of FedEx Worldwide and co-founder of the Special Olympics. As we reported in August, Frank has agreed to mentor us in monthly sessions. My husband Shawn and I were blessed to spend two inspiring days with him in September. Truly, his life has made a huge contribution as. he continues to make a wonderful day for millions of people around the globe. | |

To date, thousands of people now have been introduced to the Make A Wonderful Day™ song and message.
