During this five-day workshop, students will have fun learning, rehearsing, producing and performing in their
own powerful and uplifting 45-minute Make a Wonderful Day™” musical. Utilizing and focusing on songs that truly make a difference in the world, family, friends and students will be inspired to Make Wonderful Day’s for themselves, others in their school and community and for people around the world.

Would your students like to learn to sing, dance and act, while rehearsing to perform in a Broadway style show - A show in which everyone is the star? Do you want students to make life long friendships while learning to respect, encourage and support their fellow cast members?
Would you like students to learn the importance of kindness, compassion and commitment while participating in "The Make a Wonderful Day™” Musical?
If so, you may have just encountered the most important program of his or her life.
All of these values and more are encouraged at this Five-day Intensive program. All of our participants have "tons of fun" putting together their show, gently led by a caring and experienced musical director, choreographer, counselor and performing artist.
The Make a Wonderful Day™ Musical emphasizes that each and every child is a star…everyone has an opportunity to be on stage during the show, everyone is encouraged to be a part of a "team", a "family" that is working together to finish with a production that they have created "together". They form friendships that last forever.
This practical performance based workshop is suitable for children aged 5 -12 yrs and all abilities. Children build their confidence in solo and class performances while improving the interpretation and presentation of their songs. Singing technique, voice production, breathing and relaxation will be covered and tips offered to get the best from their performances. Musical activities include show development and design, scripting, singing, dancing, drama, making scenery, props and costumes.
Students will:

Learn and practice songs and be
involved in choreography sessions

Be involved in costume and stage design

Design, select, organize, invent and produce the décor, scenery and props for the event

Design tickets and posters to promote and advertise the event.

Be involved in writing and sending out news releases, public service announcements

Conduct interviews with the media to discuss this wonderful community event.

Produce a video of the whole event creating everlasting memories.
During the week, student’s will complete exercises where they will; assess their current situation, identify and evaluate past wonderful days, compile gratitude lists, visualize future wonderful day’s, write stories, draw pictures, assemble vision boards, and identify specific steps they can take to make their own day wonderful.
They will share their findings with fellow students, brainstorm on ways they can
Make a Wonderful Day™ for themselves and each other and then, as a school project, research and decide on one charity the school can support by donating the proceeds from the
Make a Wonderful Day™ musical and theme night.
Students will choose Make a Wonderful Day™ products that they feel family and friends would want to purchase and then they
will develop and design the promotion, advertising and marketing plans/tools for these products in order to raise money for their favorite charity.
Students and visitors will be invited to participate in the painting of a Muriel signifying their "vision for peace". This Muriel will then be exchanged with another school in the world through the “Where Peace Lives” organization. (http://www.wherepeacelives.org/index.php).
Students will have the unprecedented opportunity to impact world views on peace through their thought-provoking visual communications. They will see and recognize the similarities they have with other young people around the world and discover the common ground we all share toward building a peaceful global community.
Students, parents and teachers will work together to showcase food from their country of origin showcasing food from all around the world.
Student’s, teachers, parents, family and friends will be encouraged to come dressed in clothes representing their ethnic roots to signify that we are all part of the same world.

The students will choose and host creative activities and stations for concert attendees to join in on.
Students will ask fellow students, teachers, parents, family members, members of the community, local celebrities and political figures the question

They will then gather and assemble these quotes and stories into a book that will be used to raise funds for their special school charity.
The Make a Wonderful Day™ musical production helps them find their own voices, connect to their own life stories, and learn from their peers to develop their natural self-confidence, motivation, desire to participate, mutual respect toward others, communication, and leadership—essential and powerful life skills.
It creates an atmosphere that unites students and teachers towards making wonderful days for themselves and each other and helps students recognize the important role that each of them can and do play in making the world a better place.
